This is the story of fifty-five helpless little pixies. They have grown a year older, and a year wiser. Yet, they do not know what awaits of them in this new year.
These pixies live scattered all around the world. but they always go back to the Hall almost everyday.
Now, on the day that they returned to the Hall, they took their place in a small Area. After chatting and fooling around for some 20 minutes, the Bell rang in the most familiar tune. The pixies ignored it and continued their chattering. Not long after, a pixie shouted aloud that she is coming. The pixies hurried and got back to their assigned places.
The door slid open, and a women- approximately around 30- entered the Area, head held high. Immediately, the pixies sensed an evil aura. And the room seemed to fill with dark fog, taking over the Area. The pixies did their manners and sat down quietly.
The women spoke in the most menacing way.
Somehow, the pixies knew she was the Witch, and began to pray for their safety. The Witch asked and spoke, and asked and spoke. Till she began to go into business. She wrote words on the board. Then asked again. Some brave ones raised and spoke. Then names were scribbled onto the board. When three names were written, some agonizing moans were heard.
The Witch commanded and the pixies obeyed. One by one, they all lowered their heads. The Witch commanded again. Same pixies raised their hands. Finally, the Witch ordered for them to look up. Two names were written on the board. Moans of agony were heard again. This time added with sounds of soft laughter.
The Witch commanded at the owners of the names. And they dragged themselves to the front of the Area, silently cursing under their breath. The Witch kept quiet, and the two pixies spoke instead. After a long agonizing moment, the ceremony came to an end.
The day dragged on and on. During breaks, the pixies would talk about the Witch and cries of sadness were often heard.
At the end of the day, the pixies bid goodbye and took their own ways home.
They knew that this was a challenge, and probably one that they could never return in one piece.
